    Emphasizing on the possibility of investment cooperation in the Saudi food safety program

    Canadian Ambassador: "We aim to explore more investment opportunities in the Kingdom
     
     

     
    The Canadian Ambassador in the Kingdom, Mr. David Shtrson emphasized the aim of the continuious meetings in the chamber as a part of the efforts to rediscover the trade and investment opportunities in the Kingdom, especially in the Eastern Region.
     
    David throughout his speech in the workshop organized by the Chamber on Tuesday, April 27th 2010 and was attended by Asharqia Chairman ,Mr. Abdulrahman bin Rashid Al Rashid and a number of businessmen in cooperation with Dr. Saud Al-Amari, , Blake, and Cassels, who said that Canada has a lot to offer to the Kingdom in key sectors such as energy, mining and education and Agriculture, where more than 8000 Saudi students, including 800 doctors studying in various Canadian universities and its expected reach 10 thousand students this year.
     
    Shtrson said that there is potential for cooperation with the Kingdom within the food safety program launched by the Saudi government to ensure a steady supply of sources of food products, the fact that Canada is one of the largest producers of wheat and other agricultural products in the world.
     
    For his part, Asharqia Chairman ,Mr. Abdulrahman Bin Rashid Al-Rashid explained the need for more cooperation between Canada and the Kingdom in the field of education and training, noting that there is room to send more Saudis medical students to Canada to catch up with the educational experiences there, stressing on the historical ties between two countries.
     
    Moreover,Dr. Saud Al-Amari, Managing Partner of Dr. Saud Al-Amari LawCompany gave an overview on the current trade and investment opportunities in various economic sectors in the Kingdom
